The Security Rights

The right to access and/or use the CommonCents system by an individual user or group
of users can be defined by using the security maintenance screens included in the system.

Access rights of a user can be defined up to the menu or icon level. CommonCents has provided four (4) screens to enable one to define or maintain the access rights of a user.

These screens are the following:
  • User Level Maintenance Screen
  • Security Group Maintenance Screen
  • Security Rights - Menu Level Screen
  • Security Right - Icon Level Screen
  • Patch Module Maintenance Screen
  • Back-Up and Compact

Before using this facility, it is important to consider the following:

    a) Who shall be the direct users of the system? Who shall be allowed to use the system?

    b) How shall these users be grouped together? What are the different functions to
    consider in a group?

    c) Considering the functions of a group, what menus and icons should be allowed to be used by the group?

A Super User of the system should be assigned prior to defining the access rights of the system. This Super User should be adept in using the system and at the same time knows how to relate the functionalities of the system with the day-to-day operations of a microfinance institution. Follow the process defined below in defining the access or security rights of the CommonCents system in your institution:

    1. Create security groups using the Security Group Maintenance Screen,

    2. Define the security rights of the group by using the Security Rights - Menu Level Screen and the Security Rights - Icon Level Screen, and

    3. Create individual users using the User Level Maintenance Screen.
